Project Pan: Frugality 2025

I'm decluttering a teensy bit, and I'm not alone. "No Buy" and "Project Pan" are a thing now, the Wall Street Journal tells me. I'm starting with Project Pan as No Buy may be a little too much for me right now. So as these things go, Project Pan started on Tik Tok (a social media I do not use). The idea is to use up all your skin care, makeup and body care before you buy replacements. The name apparently refers to reaching the bottom of your container (bottom of the "pan"). Poorly named, but I like the concept, and some even combine it with a "no buy" pledge. I'm starting small. See what I'm tossing? I'm sorry to admit that those glass bottles were empty to begin with. They previously contained scents from a perfume shop in New Orleans. They certainly hold good memories, but the perfume has long ago evaporated. I finally used up some lotion from Tahiti made with coconut oil and the native Monoi (Tiare) flower. (Luckily, I have two more bottles; and really, you can't get enough of this stuff.) And the old mascara? Why? The cheek/lip tint that is so low it has to be dug out with a fingernail? Why? The hard part of Project Pan is that it can take a *loooong* time to get through this kind of stuff. Therefore, I packaged up some old shoes and clothes and donated same. (In my city, I can leave donations in a plastic bag with a note "Donate" and they pick up with my trash. How cool is that?)
